Granite City Speaks

Delivered with funding from Young Start, the National Lottery Community Fund.

“Granite City Speaks otherwise known as ‘GCS’ is the Denis Law Legacy Trust’s youth forum. The forum came about because as a children's charity we want to ensure young people are at the heart of what we do and why we do it.” - Mark Williams, Chief Operating Officer.

Granite City Speaks plays an essential role in developing the charity and enhancing Denis Law Legacy Trust programming. Since their formation, the youth forum has grown in enthusiasm and confidence, looking at wider issues that impact their local communities, identifying and raising concerns on behalf of young people living in targeted areas of Aberdeen.

The group meets monthly at the Robert Gordon University and currently comprises of 10 young people aged 14-18 who represent their local Streetsport sessions and the areas in which they take place.

GCS plays a pivotal role in steering the direction of the charity from guiding Denis Law Legacy Trust to become a carbon neutral charity to sitting on our advisory board, providing a youth voice at the highest level of the charity.

The youth forum is delivered in partnership with Robert Gordon university and with funding from Young Start, The National Lottery Community Fund.
