Scottish Enterprise make generous donation towards Streetsport youth
Staff from Scottish Enterprise in Aberdeen have donated hundreds of bottles of water and cereal bars to Streetsport, Denis Law Legacy Trust’s flagship programme.
The very generous donation will ensure youth participants who attend Streetsport sessions throughout Aberdeen are not left going home hungry or dehydrated after a busy couple hours of running around.
The water was donated from Scottish Enterprise while the cereal bars were donated by staff themselves, something greatly appreciated by all involved with Streetsport.
Streetsport Development Officer, Hannah Clews, said: “Thank you so much to those at Scottish Enterprise in Aberdeen who have donated a huge amount of water and cereal bars towards our sessions.
“During the warmer season it’s great to have water plus healthy snacks in our vans at the ready to offer out. It’s a huge bonus to our summer holiday sessions”.
Caroline Greig, of Scottish Enterprise, said: “After meeting Mark Williams (Streetsport COO) and hearing and seeing the good work that everyone does, we were amazed by the response we received when we put the word out around the office.
“Staff did as they were asked and added a couple of cereal bar boxes to their weekly shop which resulted in 76 boxes totalling 380 cereal bars will hopefully go some way to providing some snacks for the communities taking part.
“We also applied to our Staff Fund where we can request donations for charities or particular projects and received a very quick response from the team to confirm a donation of £350. This will go towards providing hundreds of bottles of water throughout the summer.
“With around 450 youngsters attending Streetsport every week, we were glad to help out in a very small way. We’ve now started collecting cereal boxes again as it is such an easy way to help out and are thrilled that we can support the fantastic work which Streetsport do.”
