DLLT achieve record-breaking Annual Fundraising Dinner

The Annual Fundraising Dinner was our most successful to date. It was a fabulous night and we are confident that everyone who attended had a great time.

Next year’s dinner is already confirmed at The Marcliffe at Pitfodels on Friday, 18 November 2022. Alex Fleming will return as our inimitable compere.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of all involved, the amount raised this year far eclipsed that of any previous dinners and marked a tremendous end to the week after Denis Law’s statue unveiling.

Special guests included Aberdeen greats Willie Miller and John McMaster, Craig Brown, the last manager to take Scotland to a World Cup finals, and of course Denis Law, patron of the charity alongside many of his family and friends.

Entertainment on the night came from two giants of Scottish football, Willie Henderson and Martin Buchan, as well as live music from the Aberdeen Uke’s and comedy from Josh Daniels.

Everyone enthusiastically took part in a live auction thanks to the peerless Alex Fleming, who was excellent throughout, as well as a silent auction which attracted bids aplenty.

Thanks to all our sponsors, the table hosts, each and every attendee, everyone who donated prizes and all the team behind the scenes. Thanks also to The Marcliffe and Granite City Events for their excellent work and cooperation.

The money raised from our dinner thanks to the support from you all will go a long way in helping to grow the charity and our programmes which fundamentally exist to improve the lives of young people here in Aberdeen.

One particular highlight of the night included Nor-Dean being presented with a certificate and signed shirt from Denis Law after a remarkable 1,000 hours of volunteering for Streetsport, the Trust’s flagship programme in partnership with RGU. Nor-Dean was a participant in Northfield before progressing through the pathway and has now been volunteering for many years.
