Denis Law Legacy Trust and Central Strengthen Charity Partnership
Children’s charity, Denis Law Legacy Trust and transport giant, Central have further strengthened their long-standing partnership to provide young people with life changing opportunities and experiences.
Central, which offers a range of transport and garage services, provided vital transportation for the Trust’s landmark participation in the Global Peace Games in Belgium, which saw Scotland represented for the first time at the international games, and annual Volunteer Transfer with Foundation 92 - the Class of ‘92s charity based in Salford, Manchester.
Going the extra mile, Central also branded the coaches, emblazoned with the Denis Law Legacy Trust crest.
A family owned and operated business, Central has grown to become one of the largest transport companies in the North-east of Scotland with a substantial fleet of over 120 vehicles. First established in 1984, with the principles of ‘high standards at low rates’, Central is the official transport partner for Aberdeen FC and has supported several charitable causes across Aberdeen city and shire.
Central has consistently supported Denis Law Legacy Trust for a number of years, providing transportation for its CLUB 10 programme, which aims to strengthen relationships between inmates at HMP & YOI Grampian and their families, and annual ‘Sport di Strada’, which sees young people from Streetsport sessions across Aberdeen come together for a fun, but competitive, tournament.
Lynne Smith, Managing Director, Central said “At Central, we aim to support the positive work of good causes across Aberdeen city and shire. Denis Law Legacy Trust does vital work in providing young people with positive opportunities and experiences, such as the Volunteer Transfer and Global Peace Games, that enrich their lives. We are delighted to work closely with the Trust and strengthen our partnership so that together, we can support young people to succeed.”
Mark Williams, Chief Operating Officer, Denis Law Legacy Trust said “Thanks to Lynne and Ryan at Central, with their generous support, we have been able to provide young people with several life changing experiences, that they would not otherwise have had access to. We are incredibly grateful for Central’s continued support and for the positive impact they have on so many good causes across the North-east.”
Denis Law Legacy Trust is a registered charity that operates and delivers several free to access programmes and positive destination activities for young people in Aberdeen.
Primarily through its Streetsport programme, which is run in partnership with Robert Gordon University, the Trust aims to reduce instances of youth crime and anti-social behaviour; improve health and wellbeing; and encourage inclusivity through sport, physical activity and creative endeavour.
