Walkers smash target in Kiltwalk fundraiser
Kiltwalkers who trekked Deeside in aid of Denis Law Legacy Trust have far exceeded their fundraising target.
The children’s charity is delighted to announce that over 20 supporters committed to the Kiltwalk and collectively managed to raise over £8,000.
What’s more, with Sir Tom Hunter’s contribution added on top, the figure will eclipse £12,000 - an incredible amount for a small charity which rely heavily on the generous efforts of others.
The team of walkers included volunteers, trustees, youngsters, friends and supporters with all three walking distances covered and everyone successfully completing their route.
An initial £5,000 target was smashed some weeks ago in the build up to the event with huge thanks to The Boat Inn, Aboyne for their contributions - from staff who took part to customers who donated.
The Aberdeen Kiltwalk raised over £600,000 in total to help 285 charities in the region and beyond. The longest walk stretched from Potarch in Aberdeenshire to Duthie Park in the city centre where refreshments, medals and most importantly rest was finally enjoyed.
On behalf of everyone involved with Denis Law Legacy Trust, a huge thank you to all of those who participated, fundraised and donated. It is hugely appreciated. The amount raised should not be underestimated and it was truly a fantastic achievement.
