Celebrate Aberdeen Brings Local Good Causes Together
On Saturday the 26th, Denis Law Legacy Trust joined forces with other third sector organisations for the Celebrate Aberdeen parade.
The parade, which takes place on Union Street, saw around 5000 people representing 130 organisations, including charities, youth groups and social enterprises, make their way through the city centre.
Also taking part were representatives of sports clubs, musicians and dance groups who all contribute to and enrich the region’s culture.
First started in 2011, the day aims to celebrate the enormous contribution third sector organisations and volunteers make to the lives of people across Aberdeen City and the North-East.
Volunteers are at the heart of Denis Law Legacy Trust and Streetsport’s success helping to deliver youth led activity sessions in targeted areas of Aberdeen come rain or shine. The trust would like to thank to everyone who came out to support Denis Law Legacy Trust in this year’s parade, it was a fantastic occasion that brought the team together!
Thanks must also go to the team behind Celebrate Aberdeen for all of their work in bringing another memorable parade together. Not to be forgotten that their important activities don’t stop with the parade, with an awards ceremony later in the year which will recognise the exceptional work carried out by individuals and organisations from the local third sector.
The awards are funded thanks to generosity of Aberdeen’s business community, including sponsors CNOOC International, CNR International, Seven Incorporated Trades of Aberdeen, Cala Homes, Aberdeen Inspired and Hampton as well as partners Aberdeen City Council and Northsound 1.
