Having already highlighted some of the signed shirts and sporting experiences available to bid for at auction on Friday, here we look at some more unique items and getaways which are sure to spark interest.

Second in the series of promoting some of the outstanding items up for auction at the DLLT annual fundraising dinner see’s us look at the brilliant sporting experiences that will be available to bid on.

Entertainment on the night includes conversations with some very special guests plus a live and silent auction which offers attendee’s the chance to purchase unique and invaluable memorabilia, experiences and more.

This year it was the turn of Jenna Greig, a Streetsport participant who who has progressed towards volunteering, to be offered the opportunity of attending RYLA camp in July.

Judy and her husband Niall were the delighted recipients of a Mini Cooper convertible having won a silent auction at the Denis Law Legacy Trust fundraising dinner last year.

Stephen Rafferty has chosen to take part in the Deloitte Ride Across Britain in aid of Streetsport. The ride tests cyclists to the limits and incorporates the famous route of Land’s End to John O’Groats, from the deepest south to furthest north in Britain. P.S. he did it!

“I was only 17 when I joined Streetsport but becoming part of the charity proved to play a pivotal role in my life over the next three years. Having decided what to study further, Streetsport was a stand-out feature in my applications which lecturers picked out to ask me about during interviews at college and university”.

The Denis Law Legacy Trust and its flagship programme Streetsport were last week awarded a donation of over £6,000 from the VINCI UK Foundation.

The Denis Law Legacy Trust, in partnership with Aberdeen City Council and the Johan Cruyff Foundation, is delighted to finally be able to announce that Aberdeen’s second Cruyff Court will be named after Aberdeen FC legend Neale Cooper.

The Hall of Heroes aims to “tell the story of local people who helped transform the wider world” and will be located on the first floor of Provost Skene’s House. Topping the Sporting Champions category was Denis Law, voted in for his illustrious football career and subsequent charity work.

Last month we wrote how Dave, one of our brilliant volunteers, planned to run the 64 mile Paddy Buckley Round in North Wales. We’re now delighted to confirm that he completed the incredible feat on the weekend of June 15/16.

Enthusiastic young participants who attend Streetsport sessions are often grateful beneficiaries of a sponsored place in RYLA’s annual adventures through the Bon Accord Rotary Club in Aberdeen.

The Barrack Charitable Trust has donated £10,000 towards the Denis Law Legacy Trust’s Streetsport programme. The funds will go directly towards funding the Kickstart wing of Streetsport which delivers activity sessions to Primary 6 and 7 pupils in local schools.

Starting in Aviemore, the trio walked through Grantown-on-Spey, Ballindalloch, Craigellachie and Fochabers. 70 miles and a bottle of sun-cream later, the trio arrived in Buckie brimming with pride having raised over £2,000.

The Denis Law Legacy Trust held their first ever race night on Friday in order to raise funds for Streetsport, the award-winning programme which benefits youngsters throughout Aberdeen city and shire.

A Streetsport volunteer is taking on the momentous challenge of running a 64 mile route, compromising of 47 summits and 28,000 feet of ascent, in under 24 hours.
